Refuge Youth
Ministry is spear-headed by Pastor David Scruggs, Jr. and his wife
Michelle. Pastor Dave has served as
the youth pastor for First Assembly since August of 1994. They have been involved
in youth ministry for over 10 years.
Pastor Dave spent
his Middle School and High School years in Gastonia. He then
attended Southeastern College of the Assemblies of
God, where he
graduated with a Pastoral Ministries Major and a Music Minor.
It was at Southeastern where he met Michelle. Upon graduation,
Pastor Dave became the youth pastor of Calvary Assembly of God
in
Greensboro, NC. He and Michelle married one year later.
In 1994 the opportunity opened for them to return to Gastonia.
God has blessed in many ways.
